چکیده

Abstract The Improving Connectivity in the Central Forest Spine (IC-CFS) is funded by Malaysian Government (GOM) and Global Environment Facility (GEF). IC-CFS main objective to re-establish, maintain, improve connectivity within corridors create linkages between fragmented forests. carbon stock assessment component required evaluate corridors. study was conducted at Primary Linkages Pahang (C-PL1), A-PL1 Perak, J-PL2 Johor, with an extent of 4,355 ha, 24,759 6,791 respectively. Integrated Valuation Ecosystem Services Tradeoffs (InVEST) tool applied for assessing these landscapes together satellite images years 2010 2020 produce land use classifications. Carbon indicated depletion -592,599 Mg C over ten years. On other hand, C-PL1 increase amounted 22,129 695,689 C, These changes evidenced that activities were influenced directly significantly fluctuations stock, i.e., absorption emission Conclusively, InVEST practical assessment, management, conservation planning ensure sustainability CFS Peninsular Malaysia.

Spatial–Temporal Monitoring of Ecotonal Belt Using Landscape Ecological Indices in the Central Elburz Region: Remote Sensing and GIS Analysis

Iran has mountainous landscapes and half of its surface is occupied by highlands. Moreover, Iran is an arid country and deserts are located at lower altitudes. Most metropolitan areas are positioned in mid-altitudes between mountain and desert. Cities grow upwardly toward the highlands under pressures of urbanization and desertification. Foothill ecotones are a zone between upland mountains and...

Assessment and Spatial Planning of Landscape Ecological Connectivity for Biodiversity Management (Case Study: Qazvin Province)

Habitat and ecosystem fragmentation and, consequently, the loss of landscape connectivity are major causes of biodiversity destruction, leading to disruption of material, energy, and information flow at the landscape scale. Given the importance of this issue, the current study aimed to evaluate the ecological connectivity and spatial planning of Qazvin Province, in order to re-establish and pro...

Mapping landscape corridors

Corridors are important geographic features for biological conservation and biodiversity assessment. The identification and mapping of corridors is usually based on visual interpretations of movement patterns (functional corridors) or habitat maps (structural corridors). We present a method for automated corridor mapping with morphological image processing, and demonstrate the approach with a f...
